Concept statement

Concept Statement

Courtyard Loop House is a generative, unbuilt design study developed by E2W as an exploration of architectural systems, spatial experience and material strategy.

The concept imagines an urban Islamabad residence that protects domestic privacy while keeping the interior open to light, planted outlooks and cross-ventilation. A central courtyard acts as the organising room, pulling daylight into the plan and giving the house a calm internal orientation.

Generative Concept / Unbuilt

Geometry and Sequence

The house is based on a looped domestic plan: public rooms sit near the entrance, living spaces open to the courtyard, and private rooms are buffered deeper into the plan. The courtyard becomes both environmental device and social centre.

Screens, shaded openings and planted thresholds manage the relationship between street, neighbours and interior rooms.

Generative Concept / Unbuilt

Climate Response

The study uses shaded glazing, warm masonry mass, planted edges and a roof-level gathering area to moderate the domestic experience without making unsupported performance claims.

Daylight and ventilation diagrams are conceptual, showing design intent rather than measured environmental analysis.

Main Render Sequence

Realistic project visualisations establish the spatial atmosphere before the drawing package is introduced.

Drawing package

Plans, sections, elevations and axonometric studies are presented as restrained sheets with captions tied to each drawing.

Strategy Diagrams

Environmental, circulation and programme diagrams explain the spatial logic without replacing technical drawings.
